VOB 92.9 FM, Established in 1981, VOB is an interactive member of the community, reflecting and shaping contemporary Barbadian lifestyles. It's a young, creative and vibrant voice, delivering accurate news, sports and music. VOB is renowned for its in-dept current affairs programming and in 2000 received the prestigious NAB Crystal award, an international award for broadcast Excellence in the field of community service.
When CBC Radio went on air in December 1963 there were an estimated 25,000 private radios in the island. The Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation has three radio stations: CBC 900 AM, Q FM 100.7, and 98.1 FM The One.
CBC 900 AM was the first wireless station in Barbados. It started at Black Rock in 1963, but soon moved to the Pine where it has been broadcasting for over forty years. CBC 900 AM The Caribbean’s Best Connection also opens a window on the region's festivals and key events.
"Quality FM", also known as Q 100.7 FM, is the newest radio station in Barbados. Established on May 3, 2004, it airs mainly talk shows and some shows previously from sister station CBC 900 AM, such as obituary announcements.
